These tools are screening aids, not diagnoses
Every tool on this site helps you notice and organise things you have observed about your pet. None of them examines your animal, and none of them can diagnose a condition, rule one out, or tell you a result is normal. A reassuring result is not a clean bill of health, and a concerning one is not a diagnosis.
They are built to help you have a better conversation with a veterinarian — not to replace one.
If your pet is unwell, call a vet
Do not use this site to decide whether an emergency is an emergency. If your pet is in distress, straining without producing urine, collapsed, not breathing normally, or you are simply worried — contact your veterinarian or an emergency clinic immediately. Nothing here should delay that call.
Nutrition figures are estimates
The food tools work from the figures printed on a pack. Those figures are regulatory minimums and maximums rather than measured values, so the results are screening estimates. A higher protein percentage alone does not make a food better — digestibility, protein source and overall balance all matter, and none of them appear on a label.
Content and accuracy
We aim to reflect current evidence and to say plainly when something is our own working definition rather than an established standard. Guidance changes, and we may update or withdraw content without notice. Where a tool applies a threshold we have chosen ourselves, it says so on the page.
Your use of the tools
The tools are free and offered as they are. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at volume, or present its output as veterinary advice from us or from any named clinician. Result links are yours to share as you see fit — bear in mind that anyone with the link can open the page.
Your data
What we store, and how to have it removed, is set out in the Privacy Notice.
